ATS 2009 Flood

These pages are a photo journal of the flood that began sometime during the weekend before Monday, January 19, 2009. The weather had been quite cold. The dry cleaners next door were not running their heat for some reason, and their water supply line in the back of the building burst, flooding not only their space, but three-fourths of our space as well. Alex Bohn normally arrives here first, and she noticed that the windows looked foggy when she arrived. Owners Linda and Bill Cleveland had just left for a 7-night cruise the day before. The following photos show office conditions during the first few days after the flood. And try to imagine trying to talk on the telephone with 14 turbo fans running in the background and then going to work for three mornings after the thermostat has been set to 88º overnight!

We wish to publicly thank Sunshine Management, the property manager for Old Farm Station Condominiums, and ServiceMaster Freestate for their assistance during these first days following the flood.

Some supplies had to be placed outside.

The right side of the office was
flooded more than the left because
the broken pipe was on the right
side in the rear of the building.

The file room was mostly flooded.

The equipment room was mostly spared, thank goodness!

Water came all the way to Julie's desk on the left side of the office.

The cleanup crew used 14 turbo fans and 4 dehumidifiers.

The carpet came loose from the floor and became wrinkled.
